Avigon is a clockwork, a humanoid machine built by a mechanical genius named Pulsifer. Avigon lives in a castle, a servant to her creator, never allowed to leave. But one day she escapes and goes out into the real world. She finds freedom, knowledge, and even romance. Then she chooses to leave it behind. This is a melancholy story about a robotic young woman who never smiles.
